Description

Kyron - Dreaming Eden

The new solo album from Kyron, Dreaming Eden is an electronic reverie comprised of drifting melodies, dusty archive sounds and synthesized rhythms. It feels like the soundtrack to a dream, in that nothing stays fixed, melodies develop then collapse, trident rhythms strike up and then unravel into fragments. And like a dream it’s hard to pin it down in time - the overall sound is not quite contemporary, and neither is it a vintage re-enactment.

It's inspired by Christopher Priest’s novel A Dream of Wessex. A late 1970s take on the notion of virtual reality. Where participants escape the harsh reality of their world into a kind of consensus utopian future.

Lisbon based, João Branco Kyron, is the lead singer of Portuguese group and regular Ghost Box roster members, Beautify Junkyards. This is his first solo release on Belbury Music the sister label of Ghost Box records.

The LP comes on orange vinyl with artwork by Kyron and Jim Jupp and includes a free download code card.

Reviews

"Kyron balances floating, melodic psychedelia with cosmic, library-ish retro-futurist electronics. They come together with ambivalent, hallucinatory perfection."
ELECTRONIC SOUND

"contemporary hauntology at it's dreamiest... endlessly inviting aural journeys."
SHINDIG

“João Branco Kyron has discreetly established himself as one of the most creative and prolific electronic musical minds that moves here [Portugal], outside of the dancefloor.”
RIMAS E BATIDAS

"...this is an album that defies easy classification; it is adventurous, ambitious and deeply atmospheric, all without forsaking a strong sense of melody, and is a truly immersive experience."
